Send us a few words too about the highlight of your visit and where you come from.
Greetings,
While on holiday from Canada my partner, Sherree, and I were en-route to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road and were finding it slow going since, with every turn, we had to stop and gawk at the gorgeous landscape. We were about to turn off the road to save some time when we came across the entrance to the lighthouse and thought that well, we're here and since it's only 12km, we should go ... and so we did.
While admiring even more gorgeous views from the top of the lighthouse I happened to glance down and see a fuzzy grey creature creeping along at the base of the building. From above, it looked more like a monkey at first but a second glance confirmed that it was a koala! He seemed a bit disoriented as he was trying to scale the lighthouse door jamb and then tried the downspout without success. He spent about 10 minutes wandering around the base of the building trying to get comfortable on the fence and when that didn't work headed off into the bushes.
It was a big thrill for us to see a wild koala ... especially in such an unusual location. Thanks for the experience.
Cheers,
Rooth MacMillan & Sherree Clark, Toronto, Canada
Hi Paul,
Here's a photograph of Pat Howell, taken at the Lightstation, that I'd like to enter in the Otways Tourism "Otways in Focus 2010" photographic competition.
I loved the whole experience of the visit to the Lightstation.
Thanks,
Maree Cooper, Rosanna Photographic Club
Hi Denise & Paul,
Simon and I wanted to share this wedding photo of us in front of the lighthouse, shot by our amazing photographer Robb Duncan.
We had the perfect ceremony on the 12th of December 2009 at the Telegraph Station and had this beautiful shot taken on a very windy day, just as the sun was poking out from behind the clouds.
The lighthouse was the perfect spot for our intimate wedding and as we are from Melbourne and had people flying in from all over it was great to be able to rent out both houses and all stay together for the weekend. Thanks again for helping make our wedding dream come true!
Warm Regards,
Christina & Simon Keeble, Melbourne
Here is a photo I took of the Telegraph Station in January 2009 on our annual pilgrimage for a two week stay at Cape Otway Lightstation. My family and I cannot wait to be back this coming January. It's the perfect summer holiday destination!
Best wishes,
Michael Rae, Victoria
After the morning trek we had a wonderful time looking around the Lightstation site. It was an added bonus to brave the incredible late April weather! Being up on the lighthouse deck with the stinging 200km/h winds from the ocean was a real rush! Pat was fantastic in explaining how the station worked. I really admire and respect your efforts to keep Cape Otway's amazing history alive for all those fortunate enough to visit. May the significance of the Lightstation live on. The beautiful hot chocolate was a valuable comfort too!
I took a photo from further down the coast.
Thanks again.

Hey Otway Lightstation!
I am from Queensland and we were just recently on holidays down in Victoria and we happened to stop at your lighthouse, by the way it was cool as!! It is the first lighthouse I have ever been up, because usually you can't go to the top.
Anyways I took this picture and thought it was pretty cool!!

Steve Naudi, Datsun Sports Owners Australia (NSW) Inc.On behalf of all the club members, I would like to thank you & all the staff for the great hospitality that you showed us.
We had 47 cars for our "Show & Shine" on the 9th June. The 19 cars that made our way to South Australia via the Great Ocean Road had a great time.
Again thanks & here's hoping we meet again.
Regards,
We have just returned to our home in Melbourne after 3 fantastic days staying in the Lightkeeper's House - 10 of us enjoying the amazing views, despite the cold and sometimes very wet conditions (about 68mm of rain fell Saturday evening - 2½ inches!!!!) My husband took this great shot - through a hole in the anchor!
We will definitely be back - can't recommend this place highly enough. So much more to see and explore, even though we did manage an 18km hike on Sunday along the coast - not bad for a bunch of 50 somethings!!!

Hi,
We visited on 4th July and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is an amazing place. The sun did appear briefly and we got a nice shot of the lighthouse with a rainbow beside it. We will definitely be back at some time in the future.
Cheers,
David & Karen Toleman

The picture attached was suggested by one of the tour guides.
It is me holding the lighthouse. I was at a camp visit at Cape Otway and this was one of the activities in our itinerary.
Thanks,

Hi Deb,
We had a wonderful time when we were there on the weekend. It truly is a special place. The house is amazing and everything else. It's just beautiful.
Anyway we would like to book in again ...
All the best,

Hi,
We had a fantastic weekend at the Head Lightkeeper's residence. Nice warm fires, a very informative tour of the lighthouse and great surrounding attractions.

Guten Tag,
We are from Germany, but currently live and work in Melbourne. On our first trip to the Great Ocean Road we were very fortunate. As soon as we reached our destination, the weather had changed, the usual Victorian way, quickly from bad to great. The picture shows the change and the weather front nicely. It was a great trip and great coffee and cake at your café, which we recommend to all of our friends.
Cheers,
Sven, Cordula, Zoe and Eric Gould
Yvonne Hardy & Trevor Twist, Seven Hills, NSWHi,
We recently visited the lighthouse & thought you might like this photo we took as we came into the car park, hope you like it.
Kind Regards,
Dear Keeper,
We visited the Otway Lighthouse while on our wonderful trip from Perth to Sydney.
A lady keeper was at the top of the lighthouse and seeing my interest in photography allowed me to try to take a picture inside the light lens. I attach the image ... as a thank-you for a great day.
Many thanks,
Ken Brown
Hi,
We recently visited from New Zealand.
I would like to thank Pat Howell for the excellent service. Could you please forward our kind regards for the excellent information and time he spent in explaining things. I am sure he and other staff will be amused, a swallow flew into the lighthouse and landed on his head as I took the photo.
Kind regards,
Regan and Kerry Ann James
Weemin & SinlingHi there,
We did a photoshoot for our wedding album last September, on a very cold & rainy day, and sincere thanks to you guys who were so kind to accommodate us with letting us drive closer in.
