Tours
Cape Otway Lightstation is open every day except Christmas day, from 9am-5pm. During the January & Easter school holidays we open until 6pm.
Self-guided tours
Every visitor to the Lightstation receives a souvenir map with information on the main points of interest - including the lighthouse, Telegraph Station, World War Two radar bunker, shipwreck relics, the Lightkeeper's Cottages and historical displays. The lighthouse is manned by a trained guide, who will greet you at the top of the tower.
Your guide will recount stories of the Cape's traditional owners, shipwrecks, the trials and tribulations of the colourful lighthouse keepers, the working of the light, World War Two history, fascinating stories of the Telegraph Station, one of Australia's most intriguing UFO mysteries, and much more.
Guided tours
Free guided tours depart regularly from the Telegraph Station.
They take approximately 45 minutes and include a climb up the spiral staircase to the top of the light tower.
