Guided Group Tours (10+ people)
Guided tours and packages, including meals, are available for groups of 10 or more.
A guided tour is a great option for groups of 10 or more to explore the stories and histories of Cape Otway. We offer a variety of guided tours to suit all groups from Primary & Tertiary Schools, to Probus and Antique Car Clubs. Tour times are flexible and learning outcomes can be designed for different ages levels or special interests.
Our guides will recount stories of the Cape’s traditional owners, shipwrecks, the trials and tribulations of the colourful lighthouse keepers, the working of the light, World War II history, fascinating stories of the Telegraph Station, one of Australia’s most intriguing UFO mysteries, and much more.
Lightstation Tour (1 hour)
Join our guide on the 1 hour Lightstation Tour where you will discover the trials & tribulations of the Cape’s first European settlers, and the challenges our Lightkeepers faced in the 1800s through to how the Lightstation works today
Taste of the Cape Tour (2 hours)
The two hour Taste of the Cape Tour provides greater insight and allows your group more time with our guides, visiting all facets of the Lightstation precinct including the Aboriginal Talking Hut. Our guides/storytellers take you back to the Cape’s fascinating Indigenous culture, learning about the lifestyle, tools and diet with many species of native bush tucker plants growing on-site.
You’ll also learn about the Cape’s history, nearby shipwrecks, the secret World War II activity, and the engineering feats of the first telecommunications cable from the Mainland to Tasmania in the 19th Century.
